What a website really costs in Luxembourg in 2026

Tun KelteschPublished

A typical small-business website in Luxembourg costs around 5,000 € excluding VAT. That is the median of the four figures Luxembourg sources publish for a site of up to about ten pages, often in more than one language (3,250 €, 3,800 €, 7,000 € and 7,500 €, taking the middle where a range is given), which comes to 5,400 €. Two of those sources quote HT and two give no tax wording. The cheaper entry prices in the table below buy a basic site of a few pages, usually in one language.

Short answer

All figures were checked on 26 or 27 September 2026 and keep the tax wording of their source.

Type of site Published price Source
One page from 1,000 € HT téMéRaiRe
One page 2,500 € entry price Dasol
Small site from 1,299 € HT WebBoost
Small site, 3–4 pages 1,900 € HT webdesigner-luxembourg.lu
Small site from 1,960 € NEO Agency
Small site from 2,000 € HT téMéRaiRe
Site, 5–10 pages 1,500–5,000 € Tradingo
About 10 pages, 2 languages 3,800 € HT webdesigner-luxembourg.lu
Multilingual SME site 5,000–10,000 €, content excluded MUM
Multilingual custom site from 7,000 € HT téMéRaiRe
Custom site 10,000–20,000 € Adoraweb
Online shop from 7,000 € HT téMéRaiRe
Online shop 8,000–25,000 € HTVA AR Digital

No Luxembourg provider we checked publishes a price for a web application as such. AR Digital puts a custom platform with business integrations (ERP, logistics, B2B) at more than 25,000 euros HTVA, in an article dated 8 August 2026.

Why it should cost less in 2026

In our view, 5,000 € is what a site of this scope cost before AI tools changed the work, and in 2026 it should cost closer to 2,500 €. A large share of the hours in a standard small-business site went into producing things: two or three design variants, first drafts of the page copy, the French, German and English versions, the templates and code, and the repetitive testing across phones and browsers. AI tools now produce first versions of all of that in a fraction of the time, and a person reviews and corrects them. The other part of the work has not shrunk. Someone still has to understand what the business sells and to whom, and someone has to make the decisions. The client still has to supply the photos, the facts and the approvals, and the cookie banner, privacy policy and accessibility still have to be checked against the rules by a person. We think the price should follow the hours. At 2,500 € a site would also fall below the 3,000 € HTVA floor of the SME Packages aid described further down.

What the ranges tell you

Less than they seem to. For a site of a few pages the published figures run from 1,299 € to 5,000 €, and a larger or multilingual site anywhere from 3,800 € to 20,000 €. Tradingo's own bracket for 5–10 pages puts its top at more than three times its bottom. téMéRaiRe, Tradingo and AR Digital present their figures as ranges seen on the Luxembourg market; the others describe their own offers. Dasol calls its figures "Einstiegspreise" (entry prices), and MUM leaves content production out. Read the scope next to each figure before comparing two of them.

What drives the price

Pages and scope. webdesigner-luxembourg.lu's grid doubles from 1,900 € HT to 3,800 € HT between 3–4 pages and about 10 bilingual pages.

Languages. Many Luxembourg sites run in French, German and English, some in Luxembourgish too. Every extra language means more text to translate, check and keep up to date. Ask whether translation is in the quote or left to you.

Custom design or a template. A theme adapted to your logo and colours costs less than a design drawn from scratch.

Content. Writing the texts and taking photos are often priced separately or left to the client. If nobody has written your pages yet, that work still gets paid for somewhere.

Integrations. Online booking, payments, a newsletter tool or a link to your CRM or accounting software each add development and testing time.

Shop catalogue. AR Digital's article names the catalogue, the languages and the integrations as what moves a shop within its 8,000 to 25,000 euros HTVA bracket.

Accessibility. Since 28 June 2025, Luxembourg's law of 8 March 2023 requires companies that sell or take bookings online to meet accessibility requirements, unless they count as a micro-enterprise (accessibilite-produits-services.public.lu, page last modified 11 September 2025, checked 27 September 2026). If the law applies to you, say so when you ask for quotes.

Cookies and data protection. A site with analytics or advertising cookies needs a consent banner that meets the CNPD guidelines, plus a privacy policy. Some providers include this and others bill it separately.

Running costs

The yearly costs below come from Luxembourg registrars, hosts and web providers.

  • Domain. The .lu registry charges registrars 14 € excluding taxes per year since 1 March 2024, and each registrar sets its own retail price (DNS Luxembourg). register.lu lists a .lu at 19.90 € to register and 56.14 € a year to renew, with no tax wording; EuroDNS lists a renewal at 39.00 € a year excluding VAT. Both checked 27 September 2026.
  • Hosting. register.lu's shared hosting runs from 58.80 € to 454.80 € a year, VAT included (register.lu, checked 27 September 2026). The Funky Monkey publishes 250 €, 390 €, 480 € and 1,500 € a year HTVA. webdesigner-luxembourg.lu adds hosting and domain at 50–75 € a year (both checked 26 September 2026). register.lu includes a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate, so check whether a quote charges for one.
  • Maintenance. webdesigner-luxembourg.lu charges 60 € an hour. Dasol lists 90 € or 150 € a month. Adoraweb publishes WordPress maintenance at 2,880 €, 3,480 € and 4,680 € a year HTVA, plus 120 € an hour HTVA (all checked 26 September 2026). téMéRaiRe estimates 50 € to 150 € a month (checked 27 September 2026).
  • Email. register.lu sells mailboxes at 34.80 € a year for 2 addresses and 238.80 € for 100, VAT included (register.lu, checked 27 September 2026).
  • Plugins and licences. Paid themes, plugins and shop extensions usually renew every year. We found no Luxembourg source that publishes a typical amount, so ask which licences the site needs and who pays the renewals.

Over a few years, maintenance can cost more than the build. Dasol's 90 € plan comes to 3,240 € over three years, more than the 2,500 € Dasol lists for a One Pager. Adoraweb's smallest plan, at 2,880 € a year HTVA, comes to 11,520 € HTVA over four years, above the 10,000 € bottom of its own range for a custom site. Against the typical 5,000 € site, that same plan passes the build cost in its second year. Some providers bundle build and running costs into one fee; WebBoost offers a subscription "à partir de 250 €/mois HT" (checked 26 September 2026).

What public buyers pay

Public contracts only show the top end. The University of Luxembourg awarded 323,196 € for one year of maintenance and continuous improvement of uni.lu (TED 231759-2025). The City of Luxembourg estimated 100,000 € HTVA, five years of maintenance included, for merging bimu.lu and tuffi.lu into one site (TED 472154-2023). Both checked 26 September 2026.

The SME Packages aid

The state's SME Packages Digital scheme covers 70% of a digital project costing between 3,000 € and 25,000 € HTVA, according to guichet.lu (page last modified 11 March 2025, checked 26 September 2026). A pre-analysis with the House of Entrepreneurship or the Chambre des Métiers is mandatory. How the aid works, with worked examples, is in How the SME Packages aid lowers the cost of a website.

Comparing quotes

  • Put every quote on the same tax basis. Some figures are HT or HTVA, some include VAT, and some say neither.
  • Check the number of pages and languages, who writes and translates the texts, and whether photos are included.
  • Ask for the yearly running cost as its own line, and for the hourly rate for changes after launch.
  • Make sure the domain is registered in your company's name, and ask who holds the hosting account and the site files if you leave.
  • If you sell online or take bookings, ask how the site will meet the accessibility requirements, and whether the cookie banner and privacy policy are included.
